Nina has had several successful careers before returning to the Woodstock area, her childhood home. She received a BFA from SUNY at Purchase, and worked as a printmaker and painter for several years. As a lark, she became a fashion model, traveling world-wide for a few years before transitioning to the other side of the camera and becoming a photographer. While living in London, and later in New York City, she was known for her dark fashion vision, innovative advertising campaigns, and for her unusual portraits of celebrities. Nina then moved back to Woodstock and began a succession of house purchases; without initially intending or even understanding the process of “flipping” properties “sow’s ears into silk purses,” so to speak. She would take on vagrant and languishing buildings that touched or spoke to her, while everyone else would fail to see any redeeming qualities or would be reluctant to undertake such labors of love. She was contractor on all these projects, working side by side with carpenters, plumbers, and electricians, learning hands-on by trial-and-error the basics of house building, renovation, and sales. By the fifth such project she was ready for a related career change and became a real estate professional. Her energy and ability to match buyers to properties have served her well, and her value to homeowners needing to sell had made her company top producer for three years running at her previous agency and in 2006 she was the number two agent in the entire county. Nina especially excels in the Woodstock area where she has been top producer for several years running. Recently moved to the Westwood Metes and Bounds Realty Woodstock office, Nina expects to expand her business to the highest level offering even more excellence of service to her clients. Nina is still very much involved in the visual arts scene and takes great pride in helping fine artists find homes for their work. Nina also acts on the board at the Center for Photography at Woodstock.
